When I bought my £750 run around with a list of small issues and a notchy 3rd gear.
My plan was to run it for a couple of months rake in the company mileage rate and then trade up. That slowly changed to, well let’s give it a good service first, to well let’s fix some of these issues so it’s reliable, and then to well let’s up-grade the wheels, tyres and give it a re-map so it’s really nice to drive all those business miles. Now it’s 5mths later and I have spent about £1200 on the car. Next will be the MOT in February which I have already planned a full brake refresh for. After that there is only 3 jobs left that will then leave the car issue free, but they are all relatively expensive.
DIS needs a refresh, gearbox needs 3rd sorting and needs a bit of paint/bodywork on the rear quarter. So I’m back to the original dilemma of “Do up” or “trade in”, or at least just run it till something breaks. How did your A2 purchase pan out and what did you do?
