Hi all,
Has anyone had any experience with these? If they're any good I'm thinking I might get myself some. Mine are good, but the steel ring was painted when I had my wheels refurbished, so I'd like some new ones if possible.
Thanks

Just bought a set for my Mk1 TT. Close inspection, and you can tell the difference. On the car? No. For under £20 from China, good value, and much better than scruffy OEMs,
Mac.

Mac.

They actually don't look too bad but it's just the 'buying from China' aspect that doesn't sit well with me, and the inevitable outcome that they will probably only last 12 months then the paint disappear and probably disintegrate ?

Maybe that's not fair and they might actually be fine, they're certainly cheap enough!

Personally I would rather buy a nice genuine used set but each to their own.

I do love how they have 'Germany' as the country/region of manufacture. I didn't know China had named a town 'Germany' for this purpose, much like Mexico named a town 'USA' in the past so they could brand things 'made in USA' ?

You can buy half a dozen sets of the Chinese ones for a lot less than one set of genuine Audi ones. So new set every year! I just think Audi (and others) make an obscene margin on bits like this. I'd much prefer OEM, but not at 10X the price.

Thats my thinking also Mac
Infact, when new , you could always put an extra layer of clear lacquer on them before fitting.

John,
Yes, I lacquered mine, the alloy outer didn't look like it had been coated, and would suffer from road salt for sure.

Yes, I do agree with you that some parts are ridiculously expensive and the dealer profit margins must be astronomical, hence why I mentioned picking up a good original used set.

I like most other people hate getting ripped off but also can't bear poor quality, there's just too much of it around nowadays and with todays incredible technology, there really doesn't need to be.

I've always thought that the car manufacturers don't make money when they build and sell a car but on the servicing and parts. If you bought the spare parts separately a car would cost you a million pounds.

The lacquering sounds a good idea to get a longer life out of them as long as the fit is good and they are not loose and don't rattle ?

Just bought a set from the link and it said 4 left, I Will put a layer of clear coat om them before mounting, thanx for the advice ?

Mine came this morning, not the same quality as OEM but for the price they seem ok.
I've just given them a coat of lacquer
