Headlight surrounds

Hi all
Just a question really, sorry if it’s been asked many times before!
The rubbers around my headlights (where they fit against the panels) are brittle and perishing, can these be replaced or do you need to just change the full headlights?
Not sure if you can see clearly on the picture but attached anyway!

If you do find a decent used set keep them in good condition with a product to keep them subtle.

@A2Steve is probably your best chance to get them.

Kind regards,

Tom

Part numbers available Steven?

I could do with a set - think one of the headlights i got from you was missing one :D

I only paid £9.95 for the same product from that seller in May last year, and it was not on offer at the time, quite a price hike.
Goodness, what a price difference! Last time I bought that stuff a few years back, the manufacturer was called Einszett and I got two of those for a tenner delivered, from Micks Garage on eBay. Still got one of them unopened, after I found with the other one that once started, you have to use it before it dries up. With four in the fleet now I'll probably give them all a good going over before next winter.

Isn't that the part number for the internal seal for the splittable headlights and not the external between the headlight and bonnet?

I suggested a couple of years ago that things like rubber seals would be the thing which made our cars no longer viable. There just aren’t sufficient, certainly in RHD, to make remanufacture economic.

It is a potential problem for sure, unless we can find a way to make our own perishable parts! Surely rubber bits can’t be that difficult?
