My current roof lining is marked and considering getting it retrimmed in alcantara or similar, has anyone else done this and can offer advise?

When you post a thread, at the bottom is listed "Similar threads" always worth looking there first as you may well find the answers, but not always.

I have a beige OSS roofliner that is starting to go! If you start to offer this service and find a beige fabric I would be very interested

Unfortunately it doesn’t look like this works when using Tapatalk but I’ll remember when using the browser for the future. Thanks for the heads up ??

Morning Chris,

I have a Twist interior in the OEM A2 that of course has the beige headlining. I reupholstered it using a fairly good match to the factory colour. Looks good but I’ll have to recover the A and D panels along with the sun hairs at to point for total symmetry.

I’ll get picture to you this evening showing the difference.

The only thing stopping me to offer this as a service right now is locating a retailer that can supply me with an exact match. Soon as I find the best possible fabric then I can start this very quickly and turn around a headlining biscuit in a couple of days (only takes a few hours but donor in my spare time).

Kind regards,

Tom

Hi just thinking about having my roof lining retrimmed & freshened up with the pillors and visors done
Do the visors split in half could you tell me?
Cheers

Morning,

Whilst I’m confident that the sun visors are pressed/adhered together, I’m so far unable to separate the 2 halves.

The best way to reupholster them is to remove the current fabric and then make some templates for the new fabric, cutting them slightly larger all round the cut line then push the edges underneath the plastic trim. Hope that makes sense.

You should also notice that different fabrics are used on our sun visors. One side is facing fabric (no foam backing) and the other side is headlining fabric (foam backed).

It’s certainly achievable, have a chat with Bob @Jellybean as he had great results a few months ago.

Kind regards,

Tom

Thanks
Ian letting a car trimmer professionally do it for me who I have known for years he has a roll of fabric that is a good match so good to go ?
he was just asking me about the visors
Thank you

Hi, I re-covered my roof lining and pillars, together with the Sun Visors.
I couldn't split them, so removed the material from the non mirror side. Its a single piece, so you'll have to cut it to remove it. Cleaned up, then stuck 3 x padded panels of material in place.
I have templates of the material sections, so if you pm me with your address then I will mail you copies?
The other side I just sprayed black as the material was stuck like hell!
