Today I.....

Sorry, I don't have that level of detail, haven't had to do it myself yet, but that should at least give you a start.
Very helpful though, searched through here, found Part Numbers and called Garage. They have said it doesn't look too bad; two people have checked it.

What Alison did have was a shot N/S Suspension Ball joint, so that was probably the cause of the "Jazz Drum Solo" when cornering which started a couple of weeks ago.

Benefits of regular servicing and a good garage mean this is now sorted! ? ? ? ? ? ?

Today I replaced the yaw sensor using the passenger side access method. Unfortunately, one of the anchoring studs seems to have become 'non- captive' and spins freely meaning the sensor is secured to the body by only one of the studs...

Also today, removed the engine undercover which came adrift on the M4 last night. It was still present, but held on with 1 self tapper accounting for the excess flapping and scraping noises for the final 50 miles of the journey. Ordered a new one from Germany (diesel type as petrol ones don't seem to be available currently)

Okay, so Alison was collected from the garage. All she needed was a N\S\F Control Arm Balljoint. That was where the drumming sound was coming from!

No advisories either. MOT should be a clear pass in February.

I'll probably change the Droplinks though as I'm fussy and they're easy to do...

I don't need to say how amazing these car are, do I? Incidentally, some people were there to collect some sort of Skoda.

At less than 60,000 miles, it needed a Transmission rebuild. Bearings. Swarf. FTP. Was one of those automatic 'boxes with an mechanised shift and clutch.

Puts things into perspective.

LEDs don’t get hot! That’s the whole point of LEDs - much more energy is converted to light rather than heat.

You’ve either got halogens in there or (less likely) a bad connection

I tested mine, with the leds, before putting it back into the roof lining, and it was not hot. Maybe luke warm? Some leds have resistors built in, to prevent canbus errors. Depending on the value of the resistors, they could get quite hot. Mind you, those filament festoon got pretty hot too.

I spotted a red A2 in the carpark at Hunterston, the last time I was there I spotted an Akoya silver one both of them had A2OC badges on them. Is the owner on here?

Today I have checked out the back of the house after Storm Arwen blow through last night.
Luckily I parked the two cars out on the road in front of the house. Little Atom is off the road parked next to the garage some 30+' away from the back of the house.
The 2 large roof slates they blow off didn't make it that far thank goodness.
Still it's taken down a building on the promenade closing the illuminations for now.
Hope you are all safe, pretty bad last night.

Got the FSI it’s first service in my ownership at B&F Autos in Hounslow (recommended on here) - great experience and have a very helpful checklist of items that will need doing in the future and a likely resolution to the hesitation problems which should be put right when it returns in a few weeks. Plenty of A2s on site including this lovely looking forum member car….:

Mac.
Hi Mac, B&F diagnosed that the timing belt was not installed properly and that is throwing the timing out. So they suspect there is no air leak and that the timing being out is coming up as an air leak fault code. Having changed the coil packs and sparks, I have no fault codes other than the air leak. Will see on the 18th if it’s cured.
