Mine's a FWD 190 Coupe. I'd really think about a FWD car. They are simpler mechanically, so less expensive to run, and, importantly, they are ULEZ compliant, being Euro 4. All Quattros, (except the 3.2), are Euro 3.Hi,
I do believe several of you have a TT MK1 in addition to your A2s.
So thinking of a TT MK1 roadster……. so if you do….. can I pick your brain?
Cheers

Hi Mac, thanks for the response. I have seen that on some 4*4s in the TT range …… especially the high powered versions….. seem to go through rubber every 10k miles (ouch), could just be enthusiastic driving however, looks like I shall go down the FWD route as even the low powered ones are not slouch‘s.Mine's a FWD 190 Coupe. Any more info, just ask.
Mac.

Yeah it's really nice compared to the usual red, silver and black ones . I detailed it myself . Spent a few days to get it back to looking like new. Had the wheels refurbed as well. A few more pics on my website www.nfdetailing.co.ukNeil, that is an exceptional looking TT. The colour suits it well. Thanks for sharing it with us. Have you had the paintwork detailed?
Cheers, most appreciated. I think I will be looking at a Silver with Black Hood.Yeah it's really nice compared to the usual red, silver and black ones . I detailed it myself . Usual issues are rusty front wings and sills. The sills are a replaceable outer skin (just bolts on) so not actually structural part of the car . Window switches go ( window should drop when you open the door). I replaced mine. Really cheap and easy to do . Instrument cluster can have issues with missing pixels in the display and temp and fuel gauge can be erratic . Again not a huge job to fix. If you do look at a quattro model make sure the haldex has been serviced . Other than that just usual stuff like timing belt/water pump, service history etc . Mine has full history and recently had timing belt /water pump/clutch and flywheel done so the big jobs out the way .Hi Mac, thanks for the response. So any bad points on this particular model, anything I should be concerned with?
Cheers,
Paul

I believe so but expensive from Audi . Think couple hundred pounds each . One of mine is starting to bubble slightly at the edge so keeping an eye out for good ones on eBay.Are front wings readily available?
What are the odds of getting three matching panelsI swapped over a wing, front bumper and bonnet about 3 weeks ago on my sons 190, easy job and luckily they were of the same colour

What HP do run on the A2?View attachment 94263
I ran a BAM 225 that was tuned to 280hp last year. Very pretty car from most angles and a nice drive.
I found it to be a little boring and predictable and decided to go back to a tuned A2. The A2 was lighter on its feet and handled better on the twisty bits.
I find BHP is more relative to your previous cars and experience, when I first got my A2 to 120BHP it felt insane, now ive adapted to it I can see why peopple keep hunting for more. I just love the nimble spritely nature and handling of the A2 and that wins over pure power for me. After all how fast do you want to go on british roads?!
That is a really nice looking motor car, it looks exceptionalView attachment 94263

I've got a 2004 3.2 v6 dsg in silver I'm currently refurbishing as a birthday present for my dad. I've dropped all the suspension and subframe, sandblasted and powered coated and have to say they do get quite a bit of corresion. The actual body of the car doesn't ie sills on mine, but check behind the wheel arch linners as it seemed to have collected sludge and could see it being left causing a issue. All of the subframe on mine was pretty corroded and I had to replace the Haldex cradle. With v6 check for noise coming from the timing chain as the tensioner tends to wear out around 120k. Luckily mines already been replaced but is a engine out job.Hi,
