Yep, injectors were already assembled with o-rings and washers. 2 injectors were tidy and 1 a little tatty but clean. I’ve popped in cyl2 so will keep an eye on it. I ended up getting the lot from darkside developments. Roughly £100/cylinder, but I was quoted a lot more just to test one injector.Did recon injector come with new seal kits and injector clamp bolts?
Did the butter moment last? All back together and ran a log yesterday.
Better than 2.99 on previous Cyl3 but what is to be expected?
Felt generally better, still quite rough and sluggish until warm and then moments of joy where throttle response was great and everything felt smooth as butter.

Sadly not, I had a passenger reading out figures and they agreed the deviation was closer to zero at that point, one cylinder reading 0.02mg/strDid the butter moment last?
Mac.
Just think, the data is from the ECU, as it opens each injector. Could the problem be the ECU signals to the injectors, rather than the injectors themselves?I switched out for more recon injectors, this time from PFJones. All of these looked the same condition albeit suffix 073 had been scratched out and 216 written over them. I'm still getting quite eratic quantities, I know anything over +/-1mg/str is considered bad but occasionally this must happen under load? Has anyone got any figures to compare?

I'm not able to help with resistance checks, but the injectors are driven from the ECU, so my guess, (as a petrol man), would be that the ECU is responsible for the injectors at all times.Good question.
The problem has moved across the cylinders in the order...
+2.99: Cyl 3 OEM injectors,
-1.50: Cyl 2 Darkside injectors,
-2.00: Cyl 1 PF Jones injectors.
I've changed the injector loom when switching between OEM and Darkside injectors.
I've heard the ECU doesn't get involved with the injectors until over 1400rpm but I'm not sure how reliable that info is.
Can I measure the resistance from the loom with the cam cover off?
Is it possible to manually adjust the injector with the cover off?
Good question.

Thanks Rab, I've checked the loom now all reading <0.5ohms. It was a new loom with the first set of injectors so should be solid.1.4 tdi ATL lumpy rough rocking tick over running video
Hello, The engine (138K) rocks alot on tick over (warm or cold) and sounds really rough to me, having never had an A2 to compare against I thought the 3 cyclinders was reason. However having seen video of the 1.4 tdi for sale today on market ( what a beauty) with that ticking over smoother...www.a2oc.net

It would be worth checking the connection to the loom. I had a Lupo 3L where this connection had rubbed against something and removed all the insulation, even though is was covered with flexible conduit! This was found after I had sold the car. Thanks Rab, I've checked the loom now all reading <0.5ohms. It was a new loom with the first set of injectors so should be solid.
Is it worth checking the loom from the ECU? Deviation seems to move around the cylinders.
Apparently Bosch are struggling to supply nozzles for '216 (range) which might explain why two sets of injectors have been poor quality.
I'm half considering ditching the recon option and buying new, but I don't want to flog a dead horse.
Is there an easy way to rule out contamination?
Sounds a sensible idea.Is it worth exploring borrowings an ECU, and having the immobiliser disabled? Would rule either the ECU or the injector system out/in.
