Beg, borrow, or, (preferably not), steal, a pressure gauge, and check the pressure, no assumptions please.…drove down to Bristol, (from Amersham), in my wife’s black FSI, (she also has a blue one!). Just off the M32 had the red oil pressure warning symbol flash up with accompanying horrendous bleeping. Managed to trickle it off the dual carriage and dip the oil - all ok. Five mins later started up again and drove the last mile no problem. Faulty oil pressure switch which appears to be intermittent.
Both our cars have had the same fault within a couple of months of each other.
The car is coming up to 130K miles so it might be time for a new oil pump or at least cleaning the sump pickup out. I might have a look next time I do the cam belts.
I recognise myself here, feels good once the debute is made. I was rather worried before but I made it too.Today I successfully completed my first basic reset on L’y my 1.2tdi. Thanks for your help Rob & Marcus @chumsofmanutd It gave me the confidence to have a go and I now feel far more confident and have a much better understanding of how the transmission actually works.
Certainly looks much better. I’d have said the “before” image showed a neglected headlamp, bet it lifts the look of the whole car now.Second headlight decided to give a go myself with turtlewax headlight restore kit, looks OK I think, happy with result, View attachment 115291View attachment 115292
it all looked "foggy" while doing it with 2 sided pad and then final clear result was given by applying "wet wipe" which i did 2x with gap to dry between applications. Will do this wet stroke once more tday.Certainly looks much better. I’d have said the “before” image showed a neglected headlamp, bet it lifts the look of the whole car now.
Try a ceramic clear coat to keep it nice, you just reapply once every year.
It get easier 3rd time aroundRemoved a webasto! Very tricky and fiddly, very over top installation but of course, it's an A2.....
Like a factory fresh machine!… collected Project LNO from WOM and drove it to Warrington.
Complete with refurbished turbo, 6 speed gearbox, new clutch, new timing belt, remap, (ahem) EGR, replacement front wishbones and bushes.
Which was nice.
Like a factory fresh machine!
Swap the engine put and refurb the old in the peace and quiet of your garage of you have one?Today I was quoted £1500 for a refurb head on an AUA!
Time to get wet and diy I think. Is there a decent write up anyone can point me to?
Or do I swap for an Lupo AHW I am expecting next week (£50 bargain).
decisions...
I don't hence the wet DIY comment.Swap the engine put and refurb the old in the peace and quiet of your garage of you have one?
