Weird one this: I had a problem with a tail light and EPC recently and changed the brake pedal switch.
I’ve done something wrong though because the tail lights and brake lights operate at exactly the same time. When I turn the lights on, the brake lights also activate (including the LED in the window) and when I press the brake, the tail lights and brake lights activate, even when headlights are off (I discovered this when I was driving in daylight and the dashboard lighting changed every time I pressed the brakes). EPC light is on, too.
The bulbs in the rear lights are dual filament. I read elsewhere on here that they can be incorrectly fitted but I’m not sure how. And if it were the tail light bulbs, why would the LED brake light be affected too?
