Big thanks to Steve for the scan nothing came up , recommend stay away from Asda fuel , foods Ok LOL just give it a Italian tune up poor old car never been past 60 thanks everyone

That’s a b****r John. If the tandem pump had issues you would be getting noticeable running problems. It does sound like it’s getting fuel starvation and just cutting out.

What do you think Steve is the fuel sender a pump and gauge and is there a mechanical pump somewhere

On the TDI it’s just a float, all of the suction so to speak comes from the tandem pump.

took the sender out. Got this big gloopy bit out from the flange at the bottom. Hope this is it
