    Climate Control on the fritz

My climate control seems to have developed a mind of it's own - temperature and air flow seems to wander about particularly when cornering? So far I've scanned it with the following faults which reappear after being cleared; 00710 - Defroster Flap Positioning Motor (V107) 41-10 -...

    Glow plug diagnosis

Checked my combustion pressures a week or so ago (they were fine) but on casual inspection the glow plugs looked a bit daggy so ordered a new set. Had a close look at the old ones and also one of the new ones after only running for about 40miles and they look eaten away which I believe...

    Justice

There is a famous legal saying: "Not only must Justice be done; it must also be seen to be done" In short it means that justice should be open and public, we should not punish the guilty in secret and in isolation. Transparency is necessary for the club to remain corruption free. Basically if...

My A2 doesn't like the cold

I've noticed that when the outside temperature drops below about 6degC my A2 runs noticeably rough - doesn't pull as well and feels a bit like one cylinder is 'misfiring'. It starts easily whatever the temperature is and the idle is fine, and the roughness seems unrelated to coolant temperature...

    Indicators failed

So both left and right indicators have simultaneously stopped working - did a quick search on here and dodgy relay seemed the most likely culprit so have ordered one from Steve. In the meantime thought it would be worth opening up the old one and trying to bring it back to life - I've removed...

Socket size for rear axle nut

Need to replace a rear wheel bearing - does anybody know the size of the 12-point socket for undoing the hub nut? Found one post that says 30mm but wondered if anybody could confirm please. Cheers, Simon.

    Door not unlocking

Couple of times lately the passenger door doesn't unlock when the key is pressed but it then unlocks with a second press - is this likely to be a wiring issue or dry soldered joint somewhere or something else? Cheers, Simon.

mods4cars RemoteKEY Comfort Control for Audi A2

Hi, Just wondered if anybody on here had fitted one of these to their A2: http://www.mods4cars.com/sms/shop/index.php?p=b3JnYT1zbWFydHRvcCZncm91cD0xJmxhbmc9MiZjdXJyPTE=&action=products&cat=5&mode=view&id=100 Interested to know if it will open the sunroof or only close it. Cheers, Simon.

    Centre console top face query

On the centre console directly above the air vents is a reasonably flat panel with what looks like an edge all the way around - is the edge just a styling detail or does the panel come out? Thinking about a custom sat-nav install and would be easiest if I could get this panel out for fixings /...

    Boot liners

Can anyone recommend a good boot liner - found a few old threads but the links are all dead. I'm looking for protection against the wife's dog so ideally one that covers the back of the seats and the sides as well as a flap that protects the bumper from claw marks. Simon.

    Electric cabin heater

Do all TDi's have either a diesel powered auxiliary heater or the electric heater? I have an 05 plate Special Edition so believe I should have the electric heater but not really noticed instant heat - I've tried ECON off but is there some other prerequisite like outside temperature below...

    Hazard light switch

Wondering how easy the hazard light switch is to remove? There's nothing wrong with it apart from I find the illumination at night is too bright so I'm thinking of modding it somehow. Cheers, Simon.

    Inspection lamp

It's rare that I head to the pit of despair that is Halfords but I've been after a new inspection lamp and had a half hour at the weekend spare whilst waiting for the other half. They had a few offerings in the shop; £4 got you this one...

    Suspension geometry parameters

Is there a list of the suspension geometry settings somewhere - toe in / castor / camber etc? I've searched but not found anything so far.. Simon.

    Today I.....

A thread like this is popular on the TT forum I frequent so wondered if it would gain momentum here - basically post anything A2 related from admiring the curves, to giving it a wash to fixing a problem. Today I give my A2 it's first service in my ownership; Oil, oil filter, air filter, cabin...

    Searching for a TDi

Inspected three now; 1). 2004 TDi90 SE - 82000mls - quite nice and tidy but gearbox whine and no service history 2). 2005 TDi75 SE - 87000mls - again quite tidy but wheels shabby, felt tight and reasonably well looked after but the engine just didn't sound right and was slow to warm up...

    Softening a sport

Sorry - yet more questions in the search for an A2. Was discounting Sport models because have been told the ride is awful - how much of this is just the low pro tyres - if I fit taller profile tyres does it largely become the same as an SE or is there more to it? Cheers, Simon.

    Whine on overrun

I test drove a TDi 90 today that had a vague whine audible on overrun. Definitely did it in 4th and 5th and seemed road speed dependant rather than engine speed. The seller said the car had had a replacement gearbox recently and that the whine was there before the change. Does this ring any...

    Seat options

Looking for an A2 I'm finding quite a few that have pretty hideous seat colours. How easy is it to swap seats / are they readily available on the s/h market / what do they typically go for? Some of the door cards are colour coded too so are these straight forward to swap to match any new...
