Hi Steve, I have checked the door by pulling the top part of the door trim inwards whilst driving and makes no difference to the wind noise so sounds like it is the door rather than the top part of the frame. Many thanks again for the earlier advice. James.

Its definitely the actuator arm which controls the swirl flaps that is broken and luckily doesn't affect the drive of the vehicle. My mechanic showed me it and I was there to see it was broken. I will contact Crewe Audi thanks just to confirm that the part is obsolete thanks.
