    A2 windows failed MW51BBN

Agreed - it sounds like a CCCU issue. A diagnostic scan with VCDS would be the best way forward. A car on a '51 plate will likely have the unreliable 'Q' variant of CCCU. Thanks, Matt.

Whining sound from engine on idle, off throttle?

Definitely alternator freewheel pulley. Oscillating tensioner is a dead giveaway. Thanks, Matt.

    Pressure Washer advice?

I've got a Nilfisk E145. It's more than powerful enough and there's a decent length hose that gets rolled up by a wheel at the top of it - it works great and I'd definitely recommend. Matt.

    Airbag Issues

Hi all, To conclude the thread... After removing the centre tunnel plastics to access the airbag control module, it was noticed that when the airbag module was unbolted from the car, the issue of the two airbags jumping between 'correct' and 'resistance too high' on VCDS disappeared. As such...

    Airbag Issues

N199 is the airbag in the driver's seat, not the seatbelt pretensioner. Thanks, Matt.

    Airbag Issues

Just a quick note to update this. The clock spring has been replaced and the issue is still there. At this point, I know the issue is somewhere on the control unit side of the connector into the clock spring. Has anyone heard of an airbag control unit failing before as it appears to be a...

    Airbag Issues

Hi Tom, Thanks for your help. I had wondered if the control unit could be at fault as both faults have started within a matter of weeks of each other. Since my original post, I've spent a bit more time looking at the steering wheel airbag issue. I've found that putting a short between the...

    Airbag Issues

Hi all, Has anyone experienced anything similar to the following? In short, the airbag light is on and I'm getting two fault codes for 00588 (N95 steering wheel airbag high resistance - intermittent) and 00654 (N153 drivers seat belt tensioner high resistance - intermittent). As per the video...

    Dashcam Hardwire Kit

Hi, I didn't, no. Running a wire down inside the A pillar trim to the fusebox by the driver's knee seems to be the way to go. :) Thanks, Matt.

    Fuel Cap Tether

My apologies, I should have made clear that I have used the tether from the new cap with the existing A2 fuel cap. Thanks, Matt.

    Fuel Cap Tether

Hi, I have replaced the tether on both an A2 and my A4 with this item from ebay. It's the same tether for both cars and quality seems okay, just takes a while to be delivered. Thanks, Matt.

    EGR Valve Repair Kit

Hi Steve, I've seen this a few times on a few different cars. The oil leaks from the vent holes on the atmospheric side of the actuator diaphragm. It gets there as the charged air from the turbo pushes around the EGR valve stem and into the atmospheric side of the actuator. I haven't seen any...

FSI Heat Shield Near Fuel Filter

Nope, not that I can see. I've had a good look under the car and there isn't any fixing points on the fuel tank or chassis for a shield to attach to. We have a MY2002 TDI in the family which definitely does have an aluminium shield in this area. Thanks, Matt.

FSI Heat Shield Near Fuel Filter

    There isn't one! :) Matt.

FSI Heat Shield Near Fuel Filter

Hi all, My brother's car requires a replacement heat shield to cover the fuel filter, located in front of the offside rear wheel. It's an FSI with the 42 litre fuel tank. I'm really struggling to find what should be the correct part number - as such, would anyone happen to know what I should be...

    Today I.....

Today, I fitted the 3D printed repair piece for the glovebox light from Depronman, to my brother's FSI. The part was delivered quickly, simple to do and works great! The thread about the part is here. Matt. :)
