Reverse light on when in or passing neutral

Hi Tom, Thank you. So it’s very possibly an issue with the switch closing sooner than it should for whatever reason. I will get a new switch and swap it out then.

Reverse light on when in or passing neutral

Hi all, Just need a quick bit of advice. Discovered this morning that the reverse light is on when in neutral or passing neutral. So every gear change is causing it to come on momentarily. The reverse switch seems to function OK by providing a short circuit when pressed. So what could it be...

    1.4 Tdi Struggling to start..

Well worn. I would be pulling an injector out (taking care with the injector loom of course) and checking the bore and seals for wear.

@DaveySprocket What's the mileage on the engine out of interest?

@richardbe That also appears to be the incorrect emergency jack i'm afraid.

    Getting ready

Unpleasant noises there. I cant tell in the video but that bolt looks like it is coming out on an angle? It doesn't sound good for the threads in that aluminium console either way.

    Getting ready

The easiest method I should think is to remove the aluminium console with control arm and separate on the bench. Just doing one at a time and marking its location should see no major alignment or subframe movement issues. This is how I did the job recently but only because I had in preparation...

Warning to ATL / TDI90 Owners - Please read.

I have had the TDI75 plastic pipe (it is actually aluminium with a plastic casing on it IIRC) on my remapped TDI90 for some years and 50k plus miles. No adverse effects, leaks or bursts.

    VW Polo Front Suspension Console

I have successfully used VW Fox consoles. Actually, at home I have an A2 (of course), an A2 with the Fox consoles and a VW Polo with presumably VW Polo consoles. I will see what comparison can be made and feedback. Might be a week or two though.

Replacement Dual mass Clutch on a 1.4 TDi on an 2004

Wow. A very low labour rate I should think.

Strut pinch bolt sheared off at steering knuckle

Option 5. Seeing as you are replacing the damper anyway, I would run a cutting disc up the back to cut the bolt. And then knock the hub off the strut. Then deal with the sheared bolt when the hub is in a vice.

    Recommendations on a 7 Seater under 5K

It would be sensible to expect DSG problems and budget for them. Ive got the same era Caddy Kombi with what I should think has the same system. It actually has similar mileage. So far Ive replaced the DualMass flywheel, gear selector fork bushes and rebuilt the mechatronics unit. It still isn't...

    Flood water

I do believe that the intake and filter are the same on all models.

    Flood water

To avoid further confusion the intake is actually behind the swivelling oil filler neck. Not the area circled in red. Regards, Mike

    Brake hoses replaced

I fitted them to mine when they were due and cant say there is any immediate difference. They should however keep performing (like a new rubber hose would) for much longer than standard rubber hoses.

    Brake hoses replaced

I would of expected £43 for the pair. For each seems bonkers. However at £28 for fitting which presumably includes labour, new fluid and disposal of the old fluid. That seems very keenly priced.

    Boot liner - any recommendations?

In the past I've used a liner which is made to measure, available in a small variety of colours and a genuine Audi item which is A2 specific. It was simply a good used rear load carpet from a breaker which I put over the top of the original. Whenever it got a particular level of grime on it I...

In need of a complete exhaust system! Please help!

Most if not all of the ATL Exhaust systems I have seen are one piece with no join. Much like the one I originally linked. Regards, Mike

In need of a complete exhaust system! Please help!

Of course. I haven't seen a TDI90 exhaust like the one in your image at all, unfortunately I have seen a few. Your image is for illustration purposes only, do bear this in mind.
