Is there any menber in the London area who could weld a boss onto a pipe for me, please? I was getting this done by depronman, but fuel issues are preventing me getting there.
Does anyone happen to have a 1.4 petrol A2 on a lift or stands at the moment?
If so, any chance of measuring the diameter of the exhaust pipe, please?
I need to order a straight piece of exhaust tubing to temporarily de-cat Bluey now his cat has been stolen. Without an awkward jacking manoeuvre...
Can I just say a heartfelt thank you for all the kind messages of condolence and support.
They have been a great comfort to me and little miss Mimi.
I wasn’t expecting to be a dad again at 61, but me and my little chum will be fine, eventually.
Thanks again,
Ian and Mimi
If you’re an iPhone owner, the new Air Tag works really well as a car tracker / locator for just £29. I’ve stuck one inside the headliner under my OSS and voila!
Oh, and I’m currently walking to it so it won’t be there in 5 minutes!
As we start to (hopefully) come out of lockdown, can anyone who I’ve promised a collection or delivery to please DM me a reminder with details of what the items are so I can tentatively plan ahead?
Thanks!
Does anyone have an OSS repair kit part number 8Z0898738B that I could borrow for a few days?
This part is now obsolete (thanks to @devans for trying to obtain one for me from TPS), so the remanufacturing guru @depronman and I are looking at the possibility of getting some made, hence the need...
So, after being parked for a couple of days, my money pit (aka 1.4 SE 2001) refused to unlock this morning.
It's had a replacement AF cccu as the old Q one used to kill the battery overnight by flashing the indicators every 30 seconds.
Car battery is good, starts first time every time, there's...
Called at a breakers yard this afternoon to collect some seats (no surprise there!) and some other bits for @rosscanning.
Absolute tragedy. A pretty well loaded 1.4 SE A2 being scrapped - for a blown engine.
It had OSS (working!), heated seats, aluminium trim pack amongst other things, and not a...
Sorry to anyone who was expecting contact, a collection or delivery a few weeks ago, but I've been languishing in hospital again for 8 weeks.
After a few weeks at home I'm now fighting fit and back in action.
Cheers
Ian
A lot of the roads are surfaced with tar and chippings. Where the tar has melted, some councils are adding extra chippings to the melted patches. Unfortunately the chippings they’ve using are rather small. I’ve just spent a happy (not!) half hour in a lay-by with the front wheels off removing...
Made my first long distance trip for months on Sunday after my bout of illness, I'd arranged to go and see @sciroccorrado so I had a place to collapse if needs be.
While I was there, I collected the wheels and tyres Jeremy has been holding for me for months.
What a good job I did!
I was going to...
....sort of.
I'm home again after god knows how long in hospital with blood poisoning - not a lot of fun when you're allergic to antibiotics.
It's going to be a few weeks before I'm back at work or ploughing up and down the motorways, though.
Thanks to everyone for their cards and good wishes...
I will be collecting my replacement A2 1.4 SE, 2003 model, Iceland Green, Soul Black interior, next Wednesday, 29th November.
It's been fully VCDS scanned, test driven, and it's a little beauty. :D
So, my little green A2 is no more.
T boned by a council refuse wagon who pulled out of a side road onto Kensington High street, hit the offside, pushed me into the kerb bending the rear axle on the nearside, and spinning the car 90 degrees.
The B post has been pushed in about an inch, the...
Finally get my EML light out with a new NKG pre-cat lambda and now I have a random misfire.
This started before the lambda was fitted, so it's not that.
When it happens, it's between 1700 and 2200 rpm but only if the car is not under heavy acceleration.
If I give it plenty of right foot, it...
Since I picked my A2 up two weeks ago, its had an annoying rattle from the driver's door and as I had some spare time today (waiting for the scrap man to collect an 02 plate Fiat Seicento, but enough about that!) I thought I'd investigate.
I didn't find what I might have expected, but an...
