Anyone got a vintage classic car?

Sorry to be (extremely) pedantic! In the UK vintage cars are those produced between 1919 and 1930. Veteran are those produced before that. Those produced between 1930 and 1945 are post-vintage. Anything after that are just classics—or money-pits, etc, as Kel said. Had to know this as before...

    Another New Owner............in deepest Cornwall

Hi. I'm in Lanner (previously Bedfordshire). Haven't got an A2 now, but my 1.4 TDI SE was the car I have liked the most—and I've had a few over my 50-odd driving years! Every time I see one locally my heart misses a beat.

    Trip to the TT Shop

I used The TT Shop when I had an A2 (wish I still had!) and have used them for alignment on the A6. They're fantastic.

Anyone recommend garage at Cardiff for cambelt change

I am puzzled why Cardiff Audi quoted £400 when this is on the Audi website http://www.audi.co.uk/owners-area/servicing-with-audi/affordable-servicing.html

    Geometry check

I use the TT Shop in Bedford for full four-wheel alignment. It costs about £70 inc VAT. In my experience the service from them is superb and the techie really knows what he's doing. Here's the link http://www.thettshop.co.uk/4_wheel_laser_alignment.asp As you're in MK, they're not too far...

Ok, I'm pretty much sold on the A2 - convince me!

Well, my A2's only been gone just over a week and I really miss her. I agree with all the previous comments and would add that A2's have 'character', something which seems to be missing from most present-day cars. Can't wait to get back into A2 owning, hopefully in a year or so's time.

    wheel scuff fixing?

I've found Diamond Silver to be the perfect match for all Audi and Volkswagen wheels. Buy it from a Skoda dealer and it's also probably cheaper!

    A2 gone to good home

Well, the A2 has gone ... but she's gone to a good home! Fellow A2OC member Minoltaman has just taken her home. I'm really pleased that she's gone to a Forum member and hope Rod gets as much pleasure from her as I did. It's been a great pleasure to frequent this fantastic forum and to...

    Works manuals

You can run them on a Mac, but you'll need Virtual PC, or Parallells Desktop if your Mac's an Intel one.

    Letter to Jeremy Hicks

Just a point but, speaking as an experienced national newspaper/magazine sub-editor/designer, there's no guarantee that Audi Driver would publish the letter in the first place and, if they do, depending on production schedules, it might be too late, or the editor might be unwilling, to kill it.

    Windows that open by themselves!!

This is a well-known problem with Audis that goes back to the first A4 in the early Nineties. The fix then was, I think, to add an extra earth wire somewhere, and later to recode via VAGcom. It's happened once on my A2, so I haven't bothered to get it recoded, but our 2005 A6 did it after I...

    Aluminium Fatigue

Re Valeo and the headlamp issue - I am pretty certain that it's law that manufacturers must produce spare parts for a vehicle for a minimum of 10 years after production ceases. Anyone know for certain?

    Shell V Power Diesel

Have tried both BP Ultimate and Shell V Power. No difference in either economy or performance with Ultimate. Dissapointing. Same economy (around 65mpg brim to brim calculations) but smoother, quieter and quicker with V Power. Have been using Shell for the last five tankfuls. Have...
