    A2 No time

Touring round Puglia this week. Seen lots and lots of A2s around, sadly not all cherished! This one is in Gravina, just round the corner from the bridge that Bond jumps off at the start of No Time to Die. The bridge is covered in scaffold and is undergoing major restoration.

Any A2 owners in Leeds want a free box of gubbins?

Still have more found gubbins. Including an original First Aid kit with warning triangle bag and mixed bolts and other crud. Worth a trip for any Yorkshire A2OC fan passing LS26.

Any A2 owners in Leeds want a free box of gubbins?

Glad to have helped so many members! Parts here are from a mix of my old A2, my refurb A2 and possibly a bit or two from Hillary’s suddenly demised A2 that I thought I needed for mine but never did! Am firmly in the i3 camp now, but this A2 group is the best motoring forum I have ever had the...

Any A2 owners in Leeds want a free box of gubbins?

Having a garage clear out and have a random tote box of A2 bits and spares, mostly from my old FSI’s. Don’t have time to look through it, but if any owner can get to Woodlesford in Leeds then its yours, free. There is an A2 jack in there so that alone should be enough for someone to make a tr:)...

    Pressure Washer advice?

Karcher or Nilfisk (or Bosch) hard to go wrong. I have Karcher from costco and love it.

Stepping back from A2s (but not totally)

Steve, I have not owned an A2 since 2016, yet still I stay in these shires of lovely people. You still have A2's in your family. So don't see this as stepping back from the forum, your advice and wit (!) is as valuable as ever. This is a great forum and owning an A2 right here, right now helps...

What is your preferred brand of sockets?

The Halfords stuff is good and I have lots of it. The only criticism is that most of the sockets are multipoint, so not great on nuts and bolts where you need the extra security of a proper hex grip. I have some Facom sockets and also (and probably most used) some brilliant Bahco socket sets...

FSI recommendations - front/rear discs and pads and shocks

I fitted Monroe reflex to my car a couple of years ago and they were very good. I also have some spare springs for an FSI (rear I think) in very good condition. I am going to the social next month and the springs are free if they are any use to you or another member.

A likely goodbye to A2 ownership from me also...

Keeping an A2 on the road costs less than even a second hand i3. If you decide to think about buying an i3 then I would be more than happy to help advise. Early cars have a few well known faults related to a handful of parts. My i3 is one of the first in the country, so I have had pretty much...

    Tony Foscolos (A2 Cars)

Never good to hear of someone passing away too soon. Tony has been involved with A2's longer than many and I pass my sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.

    Budget 2017

If we have the third highest per litre price and the lowest tax take then that basically shows that the fuel companies are ripping off customers. Price Elasticity Demand sets the price at the pump. ie oil companies charge what they think they can get away with! If tax on fuel went up, this does...

    Budget 2017

Fairly sensible budget (though the stamp duty thing was a clear headline grabber rather than sensible policy). Unlike Timmus, personally I would rather see VED set very low and more of the cost loaded onto fuel. I do 25k miles a year, but I believe that pay as you pollute is better than pay to...

    A2 FSI Roadtax

So for ten years I forked out £120 or so annual roadtax for my lovely A2 FSI. All the while the Diesel owners were let off with the modest sum of £30 annually because their cars are greener. Zoom forward 10 years and I think I have been had...

Restoration of headlights first job on A2

Probably too late now, but the headlights are REALLY easy to remove. Would have saved on masking perhaps?

Rear brake lines, pipe, replacement - old ones crusty and now leaking

To a competent mechanic on ramps I would say 30 mins work. If I was doing at home then with coffee and faffing about three hours! It is not a difficult job. I would also consider replacing all flexible hoses at the same time (easier and if they are old then they will be knackered anyway). Also...
