I need Tom to look at our A2 for this fault. Rear door lock cycles and doesn't register as open on the DIS. Passenger front door doesn't unlock after auto closure has been on and the same door auto locks itself after a short time. :/

Quick and easy question for you all. What size is the locking bolt on an A2 TDI front ball joint? I need to replace a bolt (MOT failure) and I don't need a full ball joint. Any idea what size the bolt is please? Cheers, K.

Ok I finally drove the car at night and witnessed the following; - The dash illuminated buttons fade up and down correctly - The stereo does not, it stutters and has a delayed fade up and down. It doesn't really fade at all and merely steps up and down to match what the rest of the buttons are...

Are the faceplates removeable/interchangeable on these Concert Headunits? Someone has offered me a replacement but I would like to retain our original Concert face and buttons (it is pretty mint)

Hey Tom, Yep all the buttons illuminate when the sidelights are turned on. And yep the stereo switches off when the key is removed from the ignition barrel. Aside from the flickering/fading up-down display/lack of DIS info, the stereo functions as normal.

Could it just be a lead on the back or a connection inside the unit? I don't have a spare so I'll have to purchase a replacement.

No change on mine at the mo Steve. 16" A1 wheels have been minted/stashed away and my painted Votex is stashed at my cousins paint shop. Probably won't get it all fitted until June.
