    XTL renewable diesel

Filled up today with standard diesel at the JET garage at Catterick Garrison, 150.9p per litre. Also for sale was XTL renewable diesel at 160.9p per litre. Anyone know anything about it? A quick google - on one forum it was suggested that it might not be suitable for older diesel engines...

Just renewed mine - up from £276 last year to £326. I'm on the IAM scheme so should be some kind of discount over standard.

Worth considering a CAT N / total loss car?

I'd want to be very sure that the repairs were carried out to a high standard, and even then not sure I'd go for it. Is there any kind of an insurance issue?

What's your other hobby besides your A2?

Researching my family history. Just got to the bit where, in 1835, 2 very distant cousins were sentenced to transportation for life for stealing cattle. Off to Port Arthur in Tasmania. which incidentally is well worth a visit, most interesting, don't need to be a convict to go there now ....

    A65 Ingleton

Not me although I often use that road. I think that someone owns one, I've seen a blue A2 parked up at a house near The Plough just a couple of miles from J36.

How to turn alarm off - dogs in car!

I think that the interior sensor defaults to being 'on' after the car's been locked so you'd need to set it to 'off' every time.

    Strangest MOT advisory

Had this when we lived in Nw Zealand. We had an old Toyota Camry station wagon, (nice car, eager V6 engine) but one morning Barbara opened the glove box to get her gloves, and there he was ! Mr Rat himself !

    Alarm going off

All resolved by Timmus - where would we all be without him. The problem was the windscreen break sensor. Trevor

    Disabling alarm

Yes will do. As one of the faults was the interior monitoring, thought I'd look at the manual. Switching it off lights up the diode in the switch and for a few seconds the red light at the top of the door card as the manual says. But then lock the door with the remote and the red light in the...

    Disabling alarm

Yes, open the door and the interior lights come on, also the clock/date and the odometer/mileometer light up red as usual. Had it scanned yesterday, faults stored including interior monitoring and CCCU. Unfortunately the garage didn't write the fault codes down, I'll call them back. I'll try...

    Disabling alarm

Just tested - if I unlock the door with the remote but don't open the door it will relock itself after a minute but if I open the door and turn the ignition on for a few seconds, then take the key out, shut the door and walk away it stays unlocked.

    Alarm going off

Just noticed that the alarm is going off several times overnight. I'll try the trick of sticking something on the service flap to ensure that the sensor button is properly shut - it does look as if the service flap isn't fully flush with the bodywork. [ thread under maintenance titled 'Easy...

    Hello from Portugal!

Welcome to the club! You'll get plenty of help here. The dipstick tip on mine broke a couple of years ago but I got a complete replacement dipstick from an Audi dealer for about 15 euros. And well played at the rugby world cup.
