Yes, I rebuilt mine and never regretted it. its very quiet and I just love it. Not as powerful as TDI, but it's so quiet, that I hear other engines around me making more noise.

Latest update, June 26 2018, the rebuilt original AUA has been in the car for almost two months, never missed a beat, and it's unbelievably quiet in comparison to my TDI. Hi, If it is an early TDI, the speedo signal comes from the diff. There is a gear (or a worm gear, not sure what's exact description) under the diff flange bearing that should be used on MYP, and on the casing there is a mounting hole for the signal generator ( I call it this, as it converts...

I never heard any noise from the fuel pumps on my 2001 TDIs one has 325000 km, the other 306000 and raising daily.. Hope it helps. Regards, Boris

I would check the adjustment switch for bad contact? Or the switch itself. I understand that neither of the lights would adjust. They are controlled by the same switch. Regards, Boris
