After a bit of research I just had 4 x Kumho Solus 4S HA31 all season tyres fitted in 185/50R16 size. They seemed a pretty good trade off of price against performance at £73 fitted per corner - not the very best or worst but way better than the ditch finders the previous owner had fitted(!)...
