1.4\1.6 petrol or 1.4 diesel OIL LEVEL CHECK TRICK

Hi, a bit of trick I came up with, that can help checking oil level more accurately.
Most of the time reading the OEM dipstick is not always obvious, or checking with VCDS isn't an option for everyone, or if you got >2002 model, like me, you can use the 2nd oil tube left after the Polo engine, which was later deleted, but then you need to find parts, which took me weeks.
So what I did, is I'd asked someone to measure the whole 1.4 petrol dipstick, mine been broken into half, and Seb was nice to do that. It measured 71cm. Taking the measurements off of the top, until it connects to the yellow oil tube( 4cm), and from bottom as well, until middle of oil reading part (2cm), it comes to 65cm.
Take a long unused usb cable, of its a white one it's even better, make sure it's straight and not bent, cut one of the connectors off. 1st: measure 3cm and mark it. 2nd: measure 65cm and mark it. Leave at least 10cm cable on top to hold later.

Now open service panel, no need to remove hood, remove OEM dipstick, insert the cable all the way to the 65cm mark, bit of careful wiggle might needed as tube is rather twisty, and the mark should be leveled with the neck of the yellow tube, where the dipstick usually sits. Hold it for few seconds. Take it out, turn it around as you might drag some oil along on one side, and you should clearly see the all around oil level. You can even mark the level with your finger, wipe the oil off, and see how far away the 3cm mark.
If the level is around bottom 3cm mark, +/-1cm is OK, then you oil level is good.

If oil mark shows 2cm BELOW bottom mark OR no clear level shown, you need to top it up.
If the level shows 2cm OVER bottom mark, then you need to drain some oil.

EDIT: Do not forget to put the OEM dipstick back!

DISCLAMER:
MEASUREMENTS FOR 2001 1.4 PETROL, SO IF YOU GOT DIFFERENT ENGINE, 1ST MEASURE THE DIPSTICK (even if you got 1.4 petrol, measure the oil dipstick just in case) AND FOLLOW THE SAME, 3cm mark, then lengths of dipstick until top neck, plus 10cm to hold.
This should be easy to do and should be very accurate, however I don't take responsibility for any damage caused.
