1.4 AUA Dipstick

Hi All
Am I doing something wrong or is the dipstick really unreliable on this engine??
I find each time I dip I can get a different level making it difficult to be sure what the actual oil level is. It can vary from showing nearly full to half empty.
I am careful to make sure the stick is wiped before each dip and I always push it right in.
Maybe its just me or does anybody else think the same and have a suggestion about getting an accurate and consistent oil level reading

Thanks

regards
Bill

As long as you make sure that the car is on level ground and the engine has been stopped for at least five minutes so the oil can drain back to the sump, the dipstick reading should be accurate.

Usually takes 4-5 times to get a plausible reading due to the not so vertical tube.. I envy those who can do the 2nd dipstick install!
