I've only recently joined the A2OC, although wehave had our A2 for 2 years now- my wife has been driving for most of the time, but I've taken it over now. As a result I am still getting to know the car- hence my other threads elsewhere in this site.

The petrol A2 seems to have a tendency to stall at low revs, when the car is moving off for example. Happended to me 4 times today. I've noted similar comments by car journalists in reviews, even with the new 1.6FSI.

Is anyone else having similar problems? Has anyone been able to overcome this problem, by tuning or rechipping for example. The cheapest solution is to rev hard to avoid stalling, but that makes you feel like a learner driver all over again.

Our original 1.4 petrol needed very steady feet to make a clean getaway - with a stall happening way too often.
With our new A2 - another 1.4 petrol - pulling away is a peice of cake. Don't know if Audi have listened to the negative comments and made a few changes recently.

Don't drink drive! Not only is it socially unaceptable, it also harms A2's.
Was a 1.4SE petrol. http://www.audi-a2.co.uk/uk14.htm http://www.audi-a2.co.uk/safety.htm
New A2 - Ebony Black, Red Leather, CC, Symphony + all the previous options we had.

I think Audi has set the clutch too high. Its a nightmares stopping at a junction going uphill. You will just have to get used to it. I usually rev it up pretty hard just incase i stalled the car and stop the car in the middle of a busy junction. But I still like the A2 very much. Its a great car.

Thanks- useful comments. Our A2 is nearly 3 years old now, so may have missed out on any improvements made to overcome the stalling issue. As the engine is so quiet, you don't even know you've stalled sometimes!
It is a great car and love it to bits.
