1.4 Petrol BBY ECU Software Update

... They installed me 5246 (originally 4637) and I may go back and ask why the latest one which I thought was 5921 but now looks like you have a later one wasn't installed.... I originally thought mine was better after the update, but I think it has deteriorated again - probably because it has gone through a cycle of learns.

Am interested in "upgrading" my ECU to the latest firmware too, I'm based near Hatfield, so figure I'll give Hatfield Audi a call and see what they say, though I'm not going to hold my breath! My current software version says 4637 so I'm assuming that there is a much higher update. Does anybody know exactly what the update does and if it is worth it? I've just done a throtte body clean so I am thinking that now may be a good time to go for the update.

I have an AUA engine and asked about this at the main Audi Centre in Brentford, however their chief technician was unable to identify an update or service note of any sort.

I do wonder if the AUA engine mapping was the same for other VAG implementations, and if they are any better.. my main objective would be to reduce the poor low rev take-up, as it's not something easy to drive around!

Hi,

when browsing I came across a thread the other day on the German forum regarding an ECU update for the BBY 1.4 petrol engine. http://www.a2-freun.de/forum/showthread.php?t=28654

I have this engine and wondered where I would go to have the update installed in the UK? my ECU has the component number MARELLI 4MV G 4637 and therefore I think would benefit from the update.

Any thoughts?

Cheers Rob.
Does anyone knows the content of that update ? The link is too old.

I had a problem of car starting. Always from second attempt. Afterwards its starts ok but after 4-5 hours again always from second attempt. The problem was fuel pump. Engine BBY petrol.
