1.4 petrol MAF sensor location and cleaning

I've looked around for infos, but either the links have expired or it's about tdi-s.
Where is the location of it and do I need to do vagcom adaptation after cleaning/replacing the unit, just like with the throttle body, or it's just a plug on-off? Thanks

Don't think the 1.4 petrol has a MAF sensor but uses a manifold pressure sensor instead - item 6 on the parts diagm
Click on the camera icon against the part description for a picture of the sensor

Cheers Spike
Not sure how one of my first posts from 2019 got comments again, but all sorted a long time ago. Thanks Spike for the input anyway :)

Thank you Spike - I have an intermittent Lean long term fuel trim problem which I cannot solve- The car runs fine Spark plugs look ok no air leaks I can find .

Most 1.4i have that along with the engine light hehe… nothing to worry about really. What have you replaced?

I have not replaced anything other than taping up the hose running from the manifold to the airbox (preheat air ?)which had ripped but I cannot see that that would affect it in any way .I have an mot in 3 weeks and the eml was on. Deleted the code and took it for a run with no eml light coming back yet. Tried Elm327 obd live with torquelite to watch the short term fuel trim which jumps around quite a bit depending on load.

The parts diagram is the same for the 1.4 and 1.6 but interestingly only the 1.6 mentions the air mass meter item 21. So if you pipe is the same as the one without then would say no air mass meter. Check which pipe resembles the one fitted to your car.

Here is the 1.6 diagram...

Thank you - Mine is 2001 year which predates this as far as I am aware.. I do not think it is fitted on mine.
