1.4 TDI misfiring at higher revs - fault codes attached

I'm getting a juddery misfire when the car needs a little power ie going uphill, it runs Ok if you have very light throttle.... I've seen the threads about injector wiring loom - never been replaced - 2001 car - however the fault codes below don't indicate any voltage failure message. Could it be MAFF and should i scope that ? any other thoughts - maybe replace injector wiring anyway.

Faults 00818 and 01330 have allways been there !

00818 - Sensor for Evaporator Outlet Temperature (G263)
30-10 - Open or Short to B+ - Intermittent
01317 - Control Module in Instrument Cluster (J285)
49-10 - No Communications - Intermittent
01330 - Central Control Module for Central Convenience (J393)
37-00 - Faulty

Hi there
I had a faulty MAF last summer, symptoms were more of a "surge/hesitation" effect when under full load - ie. full throttle at higher RPM, fairly simliar to what you describe. For me it didn't actually throw any fault codes, but replacing the MAF cured the symptoms.

Yea - I'm heading toward the fuel filter, maybe 3 years old now, right pain to change - it just feels like fuel starvation. I'll also run if with the MAFF connector wire disconnected and see what happens. A day or two for fuel filter to arrive ... cheers roger

Another Vote for the fuel filter. I had the same symptoms as above, judder under load but would cruise with no problem. Also problem got worse as the outside air temperature went down. Took the Audi approved repairer four days to track it down.......

Try the fuel filter first, if that doesn't cure it then move to the MAF next then!
Seems like your central convenience module is having a few problems, do you have any wierdness like the central locking not working, or the alarm, or the electric windows having a mind of their own?

Thanks for the advice it WAS the fuel filter, probably last replaced 3 years ago. GOOD TEST - when i unscrewed the white plastic drain plug no fuel came out ! Its a bit of a pig to change but follow the instructions about the quick release tubes, I used coloured cable ties to mark which pipe was which at the quick fit connection. Only mistake was not jacking car up far enough in the first place. Thanks for all the tips... Roger
