1.6 FSi Is it that bad?

My FSI is not noisy, even at high (70 + mph) speeds. Would a missing under tray make that much difference, I wouldn't think so. More likely exhaust related. Worth a scan I wager.
Mac.
Mine isn’t noisy either, I’d suggest there’s something fundamentally more wrong than just an undertray.

Hello and thank you for your kind thoughts. As I don't have the FSI with me now, can you show me what tray do I have to look for? I'd like to get one before the car is driven to the garage next week to try and reduce the noise. BTW it's all engine noise, the exhaust has been checked recently and there were no errors recorded during the last scan but I'll have this checked once again. Cheers

The tray runs from the front bumper backwards, it goes and all the way across and into the wheel arches for the FSI.

This is the only picture I’ve found for it on A2OC unless anyone else has one.

Hi Stefano,

Diesel and petrol engine undertrays are identical except the diesel has additional strips of sound insulation to try and compensate for the louder diesel engine. I have a FSI and if ever I need a new undertray I would use the diesel undertray for the benefit of the extra sound insulation, something for you to think about.

Part numbers are 8Z0825235F (diesel), and 8Z0825235E(petrol).

Fixings are not included.

There are aftermarket copies available but be warned there have been reports of poor quality.

Several members have bought genuine Audi from here

Shipping will incur cost but you may have cheaper alternatives locally.

Andy

PS. Apparently the undertray provides needed support for the front bumper.
