1.6 FSI Leak - where oil filler tube and dipstick join the engine

Now in a previous thread a while ago, someone suggest using Loctite.

However, Loctite provide a number of different product, am I to assume that some superglue will do the trick? Seems... permanent based on their ads :)

Then again, a sealant would be just as permanent and messy to clean.

Also, from what I've seen, there should be a cone like heat shield around that section (likely the root cause of my problems).

Any advice welcome.

Can you be a bit more specific on the leak/damage please mate?

Is it the plastic part that bolts to the sump that has sheared off?

its often the oil filler pipe ( corrugated pipe ) needs replacing £120 at Audi plus VAT,
If you can determine that it is that, I have a second hand one for sale, pm me if required.
Cheers,
Ami

Hi,

I cured my leak by replacing the O rings on the sump joint piece and by applying some decent heat shrink over the joint where the steel tube and corrugated pipe meet.

Hope that helps
