1.6 fsi oil sump gasket

Hi.

Have a leak from the oil sump gasket so going to replace it.
Looking at the job, looks like the exhaust needs removing to get to it.
Where’s the best at the engine side to unbolt the exhaust without having to replace gaskets on that?
One the sump is off, should I check or replace anything else?
Lastly, would you get an after market gasket & where’s the best place?

Thanks.

I had a leak in that area and wasn't sure where it was coming from, I ended up re-sealing the sump and replacing the oil pump gasket, but that alot more work.

There is no gasket it uses sealant, the exhaust will need to be split at the joint just in front of the sump and release it from the front hanger then drop it down.

The sump has hex bolts fitted which can round off and be difficult to remove. There are a couple of difficult to get at bolts that are next to the flywheel which are easy to miss.

I replaced all the bolts with M6 x 22mm, I used these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/M6-6mm-G...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

Thanks mate.
I’m just wondering if I can clean it up & seal it from the outside? The leak seems to be from the front where I have access too.

Be cheaper and less hassle.
