1.6 Petrol Manifold Clean and Repair.

The correlation error, could mean the relative outputs from the two sensors are out of sync, (rather than faulty), making the cam belt fitting a suspect.
The inlet manifold, flaps, actuator and potentiometer needs attention too.
Comms errors could be battery/wiring, so try to eliminate this area first, as it'll impact everything else.
Sorry not to be helpful, good luck.
Mac.

I appreciate the feedback once again!

I have been speaking to @Rabbie we are going to work on the " inlet manifold, flaps, actuator and potentiometer" problem in a few weeks time. Depending on how long it takes me to get my engine light off for the now failed MOT.

I thought the cam belt could be a problem, but going by these two errors.

17428 - Fuel Pressure Regulation: Control Range Exceeded

17912 - Intake Air System: Leak Detected

I am going to change the fuel pump.

I have lined up a compression test too, but i have a feeling a lot of these errors are coming from one thing. I just have this feeling its not the cam belt.

To be continued.

Best,
C

If the cam belt was out of sync on one "sprocket" putting the sensor outputs out of sync, I think this can be checked with vcds, via the relative blocks. Ignition on, plugs out, turn engine by hand perhaps?
It would be good to positively eliminate one suspect without a strip down.
Mac.

Just a thought, since engine speed is measured via crankshaft sensor, could the crankshaft sensor be the problem? (Camshaft Position Sensor/Engine Speed Sensor Incor. Correlation)?
Mac.

I will look at the ECU connections tomorrow.

Compression test kit is ready to use tomorrow too.

Fuel pump change did nothing.

Depending how things go, I am thinking crank shaft sensor and or fuel injector problem.

Throwing in some seafoam in the fuel tank.

Looking like the engine isn't going to be an cheap fix.

The engine is progressively running worse because of the missfires ?

Do the compression test first.
Try one thing at a time.
Leave the tank additive till last.

Okay.

So.

I had my car at an authorized audi garage for two weeks.

I just got a call from them, saying they no longer think they should work on my car and that I should come collect it.

They did a compression test, they did a vacume test with smoke, they had ordered up the parts for the timing belt but after further tests concluded the timing was not the problem along with any other tests done.

It missfires very bad when cold.

It almost completely stops missfiring when hot.

I think its the fuel injectors. Like i said from the start?

Who knows... i called three garages today they all refused to take my car.

So its in my workshop until i get the EML is off.

Long live the petrol.

Craig

Also does the broken flaps in my car cause an EML in its self?
I believe so. I am a little puzzled why it cleared after the camshaft sensor replacement unless you cleared the fault codes.

With one garage admitting defeat and more refusing to get involved suggest you continue with the plan for Rabbie to sort the inlet manifold. (I think you can drive to him without MOT for pre-MOT work). While in there suggest the injectors are sent away to be tested and cleaned to remove an unknown, costs about £100.

You never know Rabbie with his experience may notice other things.
