1.6FSI Engine Management light. ??

Hi all. Just got back from a long trip. Stopped off and on restarting the EML was on but the car drove as normal. Had a brain wave and disconnected the battery and waited 5 mins then reconnected. Problem solved. What does this mean?? Have I merely disguised the problem??

Hi --- it could be nothing or it could be something. See if it comes back,if it does get someone to scan the car and post the code up here for help. Cheers mike
 
Hi there my A2 has just flashed up the engine management light too. The WIFE informs me she had used normal unleaded fuel not super! Car running ok could this be the reason?? Was going to disconnect the battery and see what happens.
 
Hi :) Im not sure if this could on its own lead to EML - but my advice would be go give it an italian tune up - really blast it through. Joe
