took this picture the other day. Its a 2002 model (I think) A2 1.4 TDI, curious as to what the component is to the left of the brake fluid reservoir is. Don't seem to have the same setup on my 2003 car.

Has this been repositioned from 03 onwards. Also noticed the yellow bottle located near the front bumper hidden underneath the RHS headlight, couldnt figure this out.

For some reason, I thought I knew where everyhting was, but still learning!!!
 
No Imran, on '03 onwards, there is an electric heater installed, which replaces the Webasto unit.

I think the bottle you refer to is the reservoir for the power steering system. It's under the nearside (UK models) headlamp and has a green screw cap.

The later models removed the Webasto heater completely and replaced with an electric one.
