15" winter tyres

Was intending purchasing a set of 175/60 15 winter tyres but have found someone selling a set of 185/65 15 Dunlop winter tyres that are almost as new and a good price . I realise the speedometer will slightly under read using this size but wanting to check that physically this size will be ok ....ie won't rub or foul on bodywork etc .

A lot depends on the rims, the width of them and the offset.

Most probably they would be ok on the rear but the risk is at the front, again mainly depending on the offset or et of the wheels.

Might be absolutely fine but could possibly touch the inner wheel arch liner on full lock, particularly on the n/s or passenger side.

Speedo would probably be spot on or maybe even still over read ever so slightly, as from my experience they tend to significantly over read by 3-4 mph with the standard SE spec rims and 185/50 16 tyres?

Thanks for the reply. They are original 5.5x15" et34 lightweight A2 alloy wheels. I'm currently running 185/55 16 on standard se wheels and they seem fine . Just compared these sizes in an online tyre calculator and they would be 5.8mm closer to the arch . Overall circumference increases from 1916mm (16") to 1952mm(15"). Diameter increases from 609.9mm to 621.5mm
