I know I have said it before but, didn't they used to clock Skodas FORWARDS, just to try to prove they would go that far !!!

That's good going! I hope my new project gets that far, however, thinking about it, the amount of miles I do is so low, I don't think I'll ever get anywhere near yours. My Shoby car did 300 miles last year !!! Although no.1 Son has now commandeered it and drives it to work.

Cheers

Talking of very high mileage............whats the secret if any? The wife's cousin had an Audi, I cant remember what model but it was an estate and I think G Reg. When it finaly gave up it was the body work that ended its life, it was just not worth the repair costs to do the work to save it. Im certain that he said it had done well in excess of 400,000 miles. Mind you, his brother is a mechanic it looked after it very well.

The "secret" is simple really - regular and thorough maintenance and avoiding the desire to drive it like you've stolen it!

not doing as many miles as i used to these days due to being in a new job over the last 18 months, still going strong at 208,632 miles. regular servicing and maintenance does pay off though.
