1st Service costs

Hi,
I've got my A2 (1.6 FSI) booked in for its first service on Saturday morning. After reading some posts about the prices of second services, the £320 they're quoting me seems a tad high.
Is this the "normal" price, or is it worth shopping around to other dealerships?
Many thanks
Marisa

Hmmm... just phoned another dealership and they quoted £305.
I know its a variable service - and my old Polo had fixed times, but it still seems a lot for an oil change, oil filter change, pollen filter change and "safety check" which takes 2 hours work.
They didn't even mention brakes...

If you pick a dealer in the more rural areas you may find you can get the service and a tip out for the price they charge in London.

There is an old thread on this and from memory Devon was cheap.

I can't remember what I paid for my A2's first service but I've just had my wife's VW Touran (1.6 FSI) serviced. It's also on a variable servicing interval and is nearly two years old.

The cost was £115 for an oil change and safety check. Plus £68 for a brake fluid change.

£320 does sound like a lot of money for the equivalent service on an A2!

I think I paid about 250 last May for my first 1.6 FSI service - that was with an Audi dealership in the West. However, my recent brake fluid change this year was another 80.

Many thanks for all your input... the moral is to shop around!
For my "local" area, Reading Audi came in at the most expensive - £325, followed by Guildford at £320, Oxford at £305 and the winner is.... Camberley, at £285!

I think Thames Gateway dealers are some of the most expensive around. I guess they assume we are all company car drivers that don't care about how much we pay for servicing. I recently had the 54K service for my Saab - Newbury wanted £365. I paid £180 in the end at a Bristol main dealer. Nuts. Similar differences for AUdi.

I paid £292 for the 2nd service which i believe is more work than a 1st service this was done at a VW dealership

Sounds like the best idea is to get VW to do it. My local VW is in the same grounds as Audi so it'd be interesting to see what the difference is - I'll try and find out. Meantime, anyone know if Audi have a problem with a VW stamp in the service book when it comes to part-ex values? Then again, bearing in mind part-ex values are always pants anyway, probably a silly question!

I expect the VW stamp wouldn't hurt in a part-ex deal - might be different if you were selling privately... (which would also get round the 'pants' part-ex value to some extent ;o) )

should not be a problem as the stamp is part of VAG group which of course Audi belong. My VW dealer used Audi parts so theres no problem there runs like a dream since it was serviced. I also have a VW warranty on my Audi and again no problem as I have made a few claims on it with out any hassle.

Sounds like VW will be getting my business in 6000 miles or so then. Wayside Audi in Milton Keynes (where I bought the A2) called me back today and confirmed first service £285 and second service £360.
