Information 2022 Timmus Vanishing Act

Enjoy and if you will go through Slovenia contact for a beer.
Thank you! I was last in Slovenia in 2019, when I climbed the country's two major massifs: Triglav and Grintovec.
My chosen route on Triglav was obscure and really good fun, with incredible views. However, it's a popular 'tourist mountain', meaning that the summit itself was busy with all the people who had been guided to the top via the easy route. Grintovec, although smaller, was just brilliant in every way. The whole atmosphere of the mountain was magical, and we didn't see another person during the whole ascent; as a mountain, it languishes in obscurity. Even though it was now 3 years ago, I still think about that ascent regularly.

I have posted this photo on A2OC previously, but here it is again. You live in a beautiful country. :)

Chamonix per chance, Tom?
There are 9 major mountains that I wish to climb in France, and I've summited 7 of them. The remaining two are Mont Blanc itself, and the mighty Barre des Écrins, which is some distance from Chamonix.
When I first planned this trip, the major targets were Ortler, Cima Presanella and Cima Brenta. However, as mentioned previously, plans have had to change due to my left leg not being entirely onboard with my ideas. However, I shall nevertheless spend the holiday in that central-southern section of the Alps, and will look longingly at the summits whilst entertaining myself with gentler activities. The mountains aren't going anywhere, so I shall probably copy-and-paste this holiday into 2023 with the aim of climbing those mountains.

Cheers,

Tom

Thank you, we have also a lot of fun twisty roads.
Yes, Triglav is not fun during tourist season. I remember once we had to wait almost half an hour under the top due to “traffic”.

The news about Mont Blanc isn't great due to climate change, it's falling to pieces. Guides have been banned from some of the normal routes up due to extreme stonefall....
Best wait a year!

Happy holidays Tim!
You know, you always may do a little detour through the Netherlands :)

Cu,
Louis

...this year I’m going in a Skoda Yeti that’s been mildly (and reversibly) customised to act as a 2-person camper. I’ll endeavour to post a pic or two here.
I have hundreds and hundreds of photos to sort through from my time in the Alps, but they'll have to wait. Having just got home after many weeks away, there are more urgent pressures upon my time. So, I'll delay the 'mountain porn' until a later date, but thought I'd post a few pictures of the Yeti camper setup...

Camped at 1900m, on the Swiss-Italian border.

Camped at 1400m, at a dead-end in the Grigna massif.

37 consecutive nights sleeping wild on the roof of a car, with a superb mountain view: bliss! :)
