A2 1.4 aua in search for new gearbox

Hello all.
My A2 gearbox need to be replaced. The problem is hard to engage 3 gear. Allso there is a loud grinding noise when i try to engage 3 gear.
I think the synchro on 3 gear is bad.
Allready change the oil and realign the shifter mechanism ,no luck to fix it.
So im currently loking for a new second hand gearbox.
My question is ,do i need 02T gearbox only from A2 ,or i can find replacment gearbox from polo or golf mk4.
Any help will be nice.
 
Also, before you change the gearbox, try the tower bearing, its only £16 , my gearbox had the same issue with third gear, replaced the tower bearing and gearbox is now perfect.

My gearbox tower is looking great not play at all. All other gearas are working great exp 3 gear. The clutch is also engaging nice and smoot...
I manage to find 02T FDM close to me for 80euro. Hope to have the time soon to replace it.
 
It did, as mentioned, I changed the bearing & seal, fresh oil & its now perfect
 
Try fitting a new clutch slave cylinder and doing a fluid bleed before you do anything else. Quick, cheap and easy to do. It might cure the problem.
 
Last week i have swapped the gearbox ,and also instal a new luk clutch kit ,now the car runs like new.
I have noticed that the gearbox mount is worn out ,were i can find a new replacement in a decent price?
