I think unisex is fair, though I'm not sure that the unenlightened necessarily take this view. Our household's A2 is my wife's, which means that I get to drive it when it goes in for service. Vans etc tailgate me in a way that I'm not used to, and there seems to be an assumption that the car will be deadly slow because it's small.

I also get that too!
As it looks like a little noddy car with a squeeky horn :D people under estimate it.

I had a new A4 2.0 TDI s-line on my ass a few weeks ago trying to bully sooty, so i had a quick boost, and i think that shocked him a bit! :p

"sooty the soot slayer!" :D

Cant wait for my remap!

Now, I'd never thrash my wife's car (and it's not the hooligan type anyway, is it?), but there's some satisfaction in surprising those who expect the A2 to be some kind of latter-day 2CV.

When bringing it back yesterday, I saw that an overly-made up young lady in a green Megane convertible (which looked as bad as it sounds) had clocked me and instantly pulled into the right hand lane at roundabout.

The satisfaction in pulling away smartly enough so that she had to pull in behind me was considerable. In part it's childishness, but I feel curiously defensive of this deeply under-rated little car.

I agree entirely - a similar thing happened to me this morning on the way into work, but it was an RX8 driver that was astounded!

Cheers,

Mike,
If you are ever down in cambs let me know.
I wouldnt mind seeing how the Tank looks and goes! :D Just dont leave me with the keys! ;)

The little fella could be going even better soon - he's booked into Awesome GTi to have the last few bhp and torques wrung out.

Ideally I'd like to get to the 100bhp per litre, but I think that is a pipe dream without some severe mods (nitrous/new airbox etc). The other one, torque, could get to 300Nm (222 foot pounds) however and is quite achieveable.

I'm trying to get Audi Driver to do an article, basically to redress their current take on the A2 (the last article was entitled "An Older Persons Guide to the A2"!!) and I may well be on the track at this years Audi Driver International.

Cheers,

Mike
