A2 spring bump stops

Serviced my wife's A2 today, and was adjusting the handbrake - so the car was raised at the rear. I noticed that the foam/rubberised bump stops under the rear springs are worn. I should have replaced them when I did the shocks last year. Anyone have a part number please for this?

Car is a 2003 1.4TDI (75PS).

Thanks :)

found mine have gone today as well. the springs rattle over very rough surfaces. they are around £5 each audi said.

Personally, for standard stuff, I always leave it to the dealer to find the correct part nos from the chassis number. That way if the wrong parts are ordered the dealer sorts it out at no cost to the customer.

Cheers Spike - I've email main dealer for details. While on the topic of suspension - are the front wishbone worth changing? I replaced the shocks all round (BOGE), ARB front bushes, top mounts and drop links last year, but left the wishbones. Do these ever need to be replaced? Car is at 107k and drives fine.

Thanks.

From my understanding, although I'm not 100% sure, the 6Q0 512 131 B bumps stops are the standard ones i.e. 124 mm used with all suspensions apart from the G22 comfort which uses a 140 mm 8Z0 512 131 C that is A2 specific.

Be good if someone could confirm this.

No idea, the main dealer has ordered the part - £5 something + VAT. I'll post the part number when I pick them up in a couple of days.

What's the exact part we're talking about, please?

There's the foam that goes under the springs.
There's the foam that goes on the damper piston.
There's the rubber seat for the spring on the body.

Which one are we talking about?

Oops - I gave the PNs for the bump stops as mentioned in the title but now after reading the OPs text I see he meant the spring seats, ahem

These lower spring seats PN is 8Z0 511 149 A

Apologies all round & I'll get me coat.

I should have said spring seats, and the part number is spot on. :D

Fitted them tonight, so should stop any rattles in future. The old ones disintegrated coming out - so well worth everyone checking the condition of their own spring seats. Parts only cost £5.03 each plus VAT.

Yes, the seat material does seem to be totally unsuited for the job & location - when replacing mine there was nothing much more than a stain left.
