A2oc end of year evening meal 2016

Alas I'm in Tring hooking up with my Bro, would have been great to meet you all, especially as it's just down the road. Wishing you all a great time. Best, Ade

Hi Mike,
My youngest son is moving into his new home at the weekend and we will have a very early start on Sunday. Sorry but please cancel us for the meal so we can get back home at a reasonable time..... we will still be bringing the bonnet and having a car park chat.

Cheers
Dave:)

I will be bringing a couple of drivers side headlights to the social.... they are free to a good home if anyone needs one.

Cheers
Dave :)

I think Gary may be interested in the rubber surround seal Teresa. I,m not sure if he would be interested in this one because unfortunately its missing. :(

Hi Dave, Teresa, Gary - and anyone else - lol

If the other one has the rubber seal, Gary is more than welcome to that - happy to share.....:)

Its not actually for me , well its for my old castle red A2 i bought for an interior a few months back.. I gave the A2 to Thomus last week as he is putting her back on the road for his first car, but its missing a few bits i robbed like o/s headlight and its interior , plus the engine has head problems , ive also given him my old silver ish interior and my AUA engine with the big ends gone and in the middle of making a good engine from the 2 and putting her all back together ..

The Kindness of the A2 members is amazing so thankyou everyone as very much appreciated

I do need seals too but not really life threatening at the moment , just want to get her back to her best :)

To all those attending the meal on saturday please drive careful and if your attending the german markets or shopping centres have fun. If you fancy a chat around the cars before dining then i suggest we meet at the far end of the car park at the front(closest to the fort dunlop building) any time from about 6.00pm as the tabes are booked for 7.00pm. Looking forward to a great evening with great company. Cheers mike and yvonne

Thank you Mike. Hope you and Vonnie have a good journey too.
I'm aiming to leave Norwich around 12 ish which should get me there by 3. Time for a nap and then get my glad rags on.

Looking forward to seeing you all

Morning all,

A quick note to say thanks to everyone for making the meal such a pleasurable experience; as is the norm for the a2oc socials. Great food and great company; lovely to catch up with familiar faces and to meet some new. A great way to round off the years events.

A shame that Dave (special edition) and Glyn couldn't stay, but lovely to catch up briefly. Dedication to the community to make the long journey (and return leg) so as to pass forward the bonnet (across Britain).

A very big thank you to Mike and Vonnie for such a varied and busy social calendar this year; hats off to you for the organisation, dedication and commitment. Roll on 2017.

Also thanks to Hillary and Mr Broons (and Murdo) for organising those events further north - hopefully one year we will make a longer journey and get to take in some wonderful scenery around Yorkshire and Scotland.

Cheers,

Darren

Yvonne and I would just like to say a great big thank you to all that came to the end of year meal last night. Great food with great company. Sorry to hear that mike mars suffered a rapid coolant loss on the way to the venue - hope its a simple fix mate and we missed you. Nice to see a new member join us regulars hope to see you soon again at next years socials.
Have a good Christmas mike and Yvonne

Was so lovely to see everyone last night and I'd definitely echo Darren's thanks to Mike and Yvonne for organising such a lovely evening and all the brilliant events this year. Big hugs you two.

I'd also like to thank Robin for the coffee and having a look at my exhaust this morning (not as close to falling off as I thought thankfully)

I'm not sure whether it was that Mabel liked being on the drive with the other A2s, or she was upset because Robin put a metal rod up her exhaust (possibly that - she is a lady after all ), but she had what I can only describe as a massive strop when I left. No sooner had I turned out of Robin's road, than the dash lit up like a Christmas tree and a big red exclamation mark started flashing in the centre of the dash. I carried on for a bit and thought I'd better turn round. I pulled into a lay by to try the highly technical 'turn it off then on again' and she was fine after that. I'm sure that car thinks it's human :)

Finally, massive thanks to Dave for bringing the bonnet. I will now begin the search for the next owner.

See you all again next year

A great night as always from myself and Carole too, thanks Mike and Vonnie for all the organising,
Always nice to see new members and old faces too, sorry to hear about your car Mike Mars and hopefully no lasting damage,
Another great show for the club for all that made the effort to attend,
Till the next time!
Cheers Jeff

I was gutted to miss the meal, had been looking forward to it ... hopefully on the road again soon. Got home at 10:40 (M3 shut as usual, so a windy journey though the back roads), was starving by that time lol. It turned out that the (third) breakdown guy to relay me home normally works in the workshop, and has done a number of head gaskets on A2s, so rather than leave it with the local Audi dealer I decided to recover it to his workshop - he definitely seemed to know his stuff. Should know more next week once they've opened it up.

Duet again in the spring? If so, I'll be there and be able to catch up with everyone :)
