A2OC Scottish Meeting

Hello all. A feeler to gauge support for a Scottish Social in 2009. I am happy to orgainse this depending on interest. Outline idea would be a meeting in the central belt suitable for M74/M8 followed by food and evening social with hotel accomodation or camping as required. I have contacts with local Audi franchise and Scottish VAG Club - so with confidence I am sure this could be a successful independant event with suitable interest, or on a smaller scale; a collaboration with the existing annual meeting of the VAG club. PM me or post to this thread, if there is a positive response I will set the wheels in motion.

Yours in aluminium!!;)

Well said Chis, I like many wouldn't be adverse to a camping trip in Scotland (given I've only ever had a fleeting visit to the country).. keep us informed of your ideas!

Ian

Thanks Chris. Having discussed the idea of a social North of the border, its been suggested that I become Scottish Secretary for the club. I would be delighted to do this (unless theres any objections!!:D) and I'd be proactive in promoting the A20C in the hills and glens !!!
I will of course liase with yourself and Ian if this gets off the ground - I'm told you are fellow valeting fanatics, so there must be a link between enjoying organising things and car detailing. We can trade clay bar and caranuba wax concentration tips when we meet up!!
I'd intended coming to ADI this year, but work and planning for our forthcoming baby have dictated otherwise. I'll hope to be active on the social scene next year. ;)

Did you get a refund on that regional dialect course you obviously failed? I trust that none of our Celtic brethren have taken offense at this post.

Actually I'm writing this reply on my iPhone whilst filming Tonys Scottish themed stag do in Roys Rolls and the stereotypes are flowing freely here too!

Cheers,

Mike

Quite funny actually!. Be good to see you at the meet if it comes off Mr Meldrew/Panama21. Let me know where you hail from and I will do my best to parody your culture in return :D
PS Skip, Tony (AKA Gray - ((Gary)) O Brien is my colleague Martin's brother. So regards from Ayrshire to himself and the Bonnet Toun of Stewarton from which he hails.

Dialect/ac'cent.

Hi Murdo,
Glad you saw the funny side! by the way i'm from 'Robin Hood Country'(Nottingham), Just trying to lighten up the day' with my banter, i have these crazy moments every now and again & today was on of them!
Been to do a Car-boot thingy this morning ( made £80) with a barbecue on for the afternoon, hoping there's 'Steaks' on menu, its at my eldest Daughters house, in a ex mining village called Calverton. Just to give you a little taste of the local dialect here' it goes like this; 'ey up me duck'/ meaning how are you today, Another one is: 'it's black over at Bills mothers'/ meaning it looks like heavy rain is on its way.
Look forward to 2009, fingers crossed it all comes together and we meet in 'Bonny Scotland'
cheers for now, Alan, alias Victor M------!! Ha! Ha!

Bump!

Not enough response to warrant organising this yet. Its early days and many thanks to those of you who have shown interest:D
Its disappointing that not a single fellow Scot has responded. And this despite a new member from Scotland enquiring about meets:confused:
I thought we were a friendly warm race us Celts. C'mon guys prove me wrong!:p
