Polished up and waxed for fitting tomorrow.

They dont only look very good, they also seem fairly easy to wash clean when needed. Thats not to be under-estimated.

I really like them Steve, I’m not sure about the polished section/lip personally. I think I’d personally prefer them all bronze. They’re a nice looking spike design though.

I think I’ll run them for a few weeks to see if they grow on me, but they may well end up on the marketplace.

They have just been refurbished so if anyone fancies a swap with an immaculate set of factory 17’s give me a shout ?

A2’s booked in with my trusted mechanic on Tuesday to have the wiring loom changed over from my donar car and along with that a set of refurbished injectors.

I used Mr Injector U.K. who tested and refurbed a set I had here for £112 delivered. It seems money well invested to have a refurbished set fitted while the manifold is off for the loom.

I’ve also perhaps reached a strange point in my life. For the last 20 years I’ve modified every car I’ve owned and was a full on chavvy boy racer in my day. But I think I’ve now reached an age where I can appreciate a factory standard car and be happy to drive one. This FSI I have is a lovely straight low mileage car and I think it would be a shame to spoil it with coilovers, bigger wheels and a revy exhaust.

With this in mind I’ve just done a deal with Hef and swapped my aftermarket wheels for a very good set of sport spec wheels.

I’m very happy with the result and I think the car looks better for it.

I did rather like the bronze centres in the other wheels but I have to agree Steve, 17" Sports have always looked completely right for the A2 to show it off to its best advantage. If the roads weren't so terrible round my way I'd have them on my Cobalt one too.

So if you won't be spending money modifying this one, are you going to spec it up instead? Not that there's much left, only BOSE, cruise and maybe an RNS-E that I can think of. All in a day's work for Tom - probably quite literally :D
