A2steve’s Used Parts service

For a number of years, I have been supplying used parts the members of this club.

The venture initially started out by purchasing a tree damaged A2 from a friend, with the aim of taking it apart to better understand how the cars were built and to improve my mechanical skills (I could barely do an oil change at this point). I didn’t anticipate that what was initially started as a tinker about with a damaged A2 would turn into a fully functioning tax registered business that is very efficient in the breakdown and supply of used A2 parts, shipping items all over the world. It will never hit the FTSE100 but as a part-time business I’m proud of what it’s become and it puts a few extra quid in my pocket each month.

I’ve always based my model on 3 things, price, service and enthusiasm and sticking to these 3 principles have stood me well. 95% of my customers are repeat customers, many of whom I’ve been supplying for years.

Price - I have never charged more for an item than I would be willing to pay for it myself. Whilst this has meant that over the years I have lost thousands in potential profit, I can end each day knowing that I have helped hundreds of people.

Service – the business has essentially been running 24/7 for the last couple of years. Where else could you message for a part at 2am on a Sunday and get it shipped out on a Monday morning?

Enthusiasm – Unlike the commercial breakers, I’m actually an A2 enthusiast who has been heavily involved in the A2 scene for around 5 years. I love nothing more than seeing someone’s project A2 develop, with the joy that brings them; knowing that I’ve supplied the parts to get it there and been involved in the process.

I have been a little quiet this month in terms of the number of parts I’ve posted, but it’s simply because I’m working on a petrol A2 that deserves some love and attention before sale. Once this is out of the way, normal service shall resume.

I’ve decided to post this following the announcement from the admin team that member services can now be advertised. Any feedback I could receive from customers past and present would be most welcome.

Best wishes

Steve

Steve,
I for one wouldn’t still be on the road in my current TDI without your supply of crucial parts at very keen prices.

Many thanks
Keith.

My main parts stockist.
Steve's enthusiasm has rubbed off on me, so I blame him for now owning 4 A2s, and having spent an inordinate amount of money on them! He's one of those rare guys who never says no, and has become a valued friend.
Ask Steve, whatever your needs!

I don't think there has been an occasion where your car hasn't been full when leaving my house. Even if you just came for a ashtray :p

I must have had half a car off Steve by now, and all parts have been in top condition. Steve won't even sell you a part that he wouldn't fit to his own car, so you can be sure of quality. The slightest mark or ding on a panel and he'll point it out before sale. Mechanical parts you can be sure are working. You can buy from Steve with absolute confidence ?

Oh and should you have the pleasure of meeting Steve in the flesh to collect something too large to post, you'll find he's a top bloke too :)

Steve's part supply is second to none, when he says a part is mint it is like new, parts not up to scratch are not sold - simple as that
Quite how Steve does it for the money I don't understand, often being 1/3 to 1/2 the price of the same part on ebay etc and you know that the part you get will be as described (not always the case with Ebay)
Interestingly Steve as still not figured out how to remove the electrical connectors used by Audi, but he does have an industrial pair of wire cutters, I now have numerous connectors with 4" to 6" of A2 wiring loom for free (only kidding Steve keep up the parts supply)

Paul, in that case I may bother you for some connectors with tails!

I'm hoping I don't need Steve's services anytime soon but good to know there is a good fella who's got my back!

Evening Steve,
Without your help and expertise my three wouldn't be in the condition they are now. Mind you the black A2 is turning into a good little car considering I only came down for a window switch ?

If Carlsberg did parts supply.

Steve only breaks cars that sadly are too far gone too. He even has a tendency to sell sorted cars for great prices too.

I can honestly say that I have never met a bloke like Steve before on any forum platform, he is one hell of a nice guy, and as the comments above have said, his advertising is second to none when it comes to description. I have tried to emulate him in many ways, and so far so good, but feel I am still a few years behind him....
If it is a good review you are after, then just read all the comments above, I am yet to hear a bad word about this gentleman...top top bloke......
I can only echo all the sentiments above, I've used him a few times for random bits, expertly packaged and promptly dispatched...unlike many fleabay items!!!
