As a relatively new member of A2OC I have been challenged by the numerous abbreviations used in the posts/replies by the gurus/gods that we all need and appreciate here.
An issue is that the Search function will not register a 3 character inquiry, however a Google search of the form 'a2oc + keyword' such as 'a2oc PDC' will normally bear fruit (thx Andrew below).
So I thought that an depository of abbreviations would be useful (not only to me).
If one of the moderators / forum admins wants to take over this post and put it in a better place, please do so.
Or if this information is already collected and available elsewhere, pls add the link and close this post.
And please post corrections and additions and needs/queries - And I will endeavor to hold the original post updated now and again.

Aero wiper - floppy window wiper issued as standard fitment as of about 2002
ABS - Anti-Lock Brake System
ASV - Anti-Shudder Valve (also known as the Inlet Manifold Flap - IMF)
ADRVM - Auto-Dimming Rear-View Mirror
CCU - Central Convenience Unit
CCCU - Central Convenience Control Unit (exactly the same thing as above, but with one more 'C')
DD - Double DIN (double height radio opening in dashboard), but DIN itself is a German abbreviation, akin to UK BS (British Standard Institute)
DDD - Double-DIN Dashboard
DMF - Dual Mass Flywheel (the 3 cylinder TDI 90 models have special flywheels with built-in counterbalance weights)
Bose - Although not an abbreviation this indicates the upgraded sound system
BSS - Broken Sky System (non-functional sunroof)
CC - Cruise Control and/or Climate Control
DIS - Driver Information System (optional display between tach and speedo with extra info)
ColourDIS - Upgraded display, with colour screen and whizzy graphics
DMF - Dual Mass Flywheel (found on TDI 90 models - special flywheels with built-in counterbalance weights)
ECU - Engine Control Unit
EGR - Exhaust Gas Recirculation (ref. yellow dashboard warning light shaped like an engine) (also EGR Valve)
EML - Engine Management Light
FSH - Full Service History
FSI - Fuel Stratified Injection
Komfortblinker - modification to simply tap turn signal stalk once to get three blinks
GGE - stands for Getriebe Grund Einstellung or Gearbox basic setting
LHD - Left Hand Drive
MFSW - Multi-Functional Steering Wheel
OBD - On-Board Diagnostics
OSS - Open Sky System (sunroof)
PDC - Parking Distance Control (optional rear parking assist sensors)
PCD - Pitch Circle Diameter. (diameter of an imaginary circle on which the wheel bolts lie, 100 mm on the A2, hence 5x100 (or 4x100 for 3L))
REW - Rear Electric Windows
RHD - Right Hand Drive
RNS-D - Audi Navigation (2nd Generation, requires DD size dash opening)
RNS-E - Audi Navigation Plus (3rd Generation not officially supplied with A2s, but common retrofit, requires DD size dash opening)
VCDS - VAG-COM Diagnostic System, is a product with which you can read the OBD errors of the car
VGT, VNT or VVT - variable geometry turbo found on the TDI 90 models
