Hi there Nesperas....

Maybe the tech guys are struggling with this one or maybe its a case of book your car in somewhere for a check .

My ABS lights comes on sometimes while driving, but its allways after i've power washed wheels. Then when car is restarted later.....its out !!!

If you can get a fault code, maybe someone could through some light on it for you.

SPECKS

I had all them lights on but i also had the glow plug light flashing, i fixed mine by replacing the the bake light switch, and since doing that last Wedensday i've not had the lights come back on.

I would get your car scanned just to confirm this and if it is here's a how to guide on fitting the switch + part number (with pictures)

Hi nesperas
As the guys have indicated, there are so many things which could trigger the warning lights a diagnostic scan is the only way to pinpoint the problem. In addition to checking if the brake lights are working have a look at the abs sensor wires on the front wheels, particularly if you have wide tyres fitted. The tyres can wear through the wires and cause an ABS fault. These are the only checks you can do without a diagnostic tool.
Please also take a little time to fill in your (about me) profile as this will help us understand your car spec etc in a bti more detail.

thanks for the help but i dont know how to find the sensors can you post a picture where to look. i had a problem with the front left wheel it was making a loud noise a took the wheel and put it back again and the noise was gone do you think it has anything to do with this?

I don't have any pictures but the wires are fairly obvious. Just remove the front wheel and look for a cable running from the hub up the side of the suspension strut. Check the cable insulation for signs of contact with the tyre. If you'r still not sure, take some pics and post them here.

thanks

thanks. this is hapening since sunday but its strange that only at night the lights appear. during the day i go to work shopping and get my girl to her job and its ok at night the lights bum apear :(:(:(

G200 is a lateral acceleration sensor. In addition to the component, the scan should have also provided a fault code which would have helped with the diagnosis. Before replacing the part it would be advisable to check the wiring and unplug and clean the connectors. The part was £100 about 2 years ago.

thanks!!

thanks spike for your help i didnt saw the error code but can you tell me were to buy it? and thanks again :)

The errors noted can be due to basic setting not being carried out after repairs - G200 is one of these sensors which must be set, along with the brake pressure sender and steering angle sender.

Mike

?

what do you mean? its not enough to replace the part? and if the price was 100£ 2 years ago how much do you think it would be now?

When replacing most electronic components you need to programme in a list of parameters so the new component interacts with other hardware in the correct manner. In many cases its good practice to reset the parameters of the existing part before changing it. You need a VagCom diagnostic tool (or similar) to do the programming otherwise its a trip to the dealer.
I'd guess it will be £150 now but only Audi dealers have the latest parts prices so you need to contact them.

:d

well i contact audi here in portugal and they say that both sensors cost 50 or 60 € each .yeeeeee very nice but the also told me that fiting the part is very expenssive lol
