ABS control module replacement

Greetings!

After strugling with this sometimes faulty sometimes fine ABS issue I believe it is now fixed. A2 2001 AMF engine.
All started with ABS and ESC lights poping up with beeps after 20m of driving (though not everytime). Indicating both ABS and ESC are out of use (which is fine as I am old enough that my first car did not have those at all :) ). First I just restarted the engine and those went away. Then I needed to drive all the time further and further before restart cleared the issue. Of course I learned that engine restart can be done while driving and takes only a half second (but better to stop for doing it). In the end it was 30min driving before restart cleared the issue.

Already from begining I did read the error codes with OBD11 which is like VCDS but for mobile. Quite often there was ENGINE P1649-Intermittent with 'missing message from ABS control module' and BRAKES 00788-static 'Steering angle sensor - no communication'. But when reading steering angle sensor it was showing changing value when using steering wheel. When things got worse also steering angle sensor value did not change. Also I was always able to connect to ABS module and check live values and error codes while parked and mostly when driving, but not always while driving, this lead me to believe it could also be a CANBUS problem.

I started with cleaning all grounding points. No help.
Cleaning all connectors. No help.
Then changing the steering angle sensor. No help.
Then ordered ABS module by reading the code from that motor in ABS module -> that is the motor code not ABS module code so I got A2 ABS module not fitting to my car.
Then ordered with similar code but now checking from pictures that break lines match. -> got right one
First I though I need to change whole thing (motor-hydraulic part-controller) but that controller is connected to hydraulic part with four anti-torx skrews which can be opened with 5/32 or 4mm socket and there is enough space to separate controller from hydraulic part. Whole thing is easy with left headlight removed only the washerfluid hose needs to be moved a bit. But be careful, the connector from controller to abs pump motor is sticking out from controller when separating those.
Changing steering angle sensor required also adapting that. There are instructions for that elsewhere as well but I think I did only put steering wheel straight and run basic setting 60 for BRAKE-unit.

I ordered all these from breakers and their codes are how should I say "roughly there". Angle sensor came with airbag connector part number because those are kind of connected to each other but separable. ABS modules were with abs motor or control module part numbers. Angle sensor 13€, ABS module 50€ + delivery.

Hello!

2001 1.4 Petrol

The problem is the following:

The car works perfectly, only once I feel a "crunch" on the gas pedal, the car stops whistling, the ABS light illuminates on the instrument panel, the brake icon is on the large display. For about 1 second, the car continues flawlessly, as long as the icons light up. With an ODBII reader, you don't have any errors with the phone. Today, the car did not produce the error when it was half an hour old, and usually the displays on the instrument panel stop lighting up after a night of standing. you can hear it softly, not just feel it, and it's as if the brakes are holding while driving.

Thanks in advance

Hi! I cant see any 4 torx screws there.. Can you tell in more details how can I seperate control unit from hydraulic unit?

Greetings!

We changed some pictures with dzikuss and it seems that my B reversion of ABS controller has 4 screws and can be opened where dzikuss' C does not have those screws.
