ABS issue

hi

After some help regarding an abs issue, sensor changed but then noticed chafing of the drivers side cable. made a temporary repair where damage was (half way along cable in wheel arch) and appear to be getting about 11.5v across plug terminals which I think is still to low. checked with vag-com and still the following fault
1 Fault Found:
00285 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor; Front Right (G45)
012 - Electrical Fault in Circuit

what I did notice was the cable copper looked tarnished. what I am after is I can see where the cable enters the grommet but not where it goes and how to get to it to replace cable, is it an easy job what requires removing. it looks like it goes into the engine compartment. I know that ultimately it goes to the plug on the ABS unit.

thanks in advance

Right thought I would update. Both wheels off today, both plugs disconnected and some measurements taken. Both ABS sensor plugs showing 14.05v with engine running when disconnected from sensor, suspected then that I had another dicky sensor, both checked and both reading 3.5 to 4 Mohm across pins. Sensor removed from hub on left side (good side) because something was nagging me. I couldn't see a toothed sensor pickup on the bad side. Checked good side and the same.
Measured from ABS Controller plug to sensor plugs again ok. What I did notice was on the plug on the affected side the connectors looked excessively wide.Adjustment carried out and Bingo fault codes cleared and sensor reading when moving. Took for a test run and about 10 meters down the road the big red brake symbol and ABS light illuminated and alarming constantly. The DIS lamp was not lit this time. I thought s**t. fault codes checked and nothing. Eureka moment, checked the tyre pressures. one down to about 25psi. rectified and all clear now.
Hope this helps someone else. Crimped repair also covered in amalgamating tape to finish off.
