hi how long does it take for a tdi 2001 with Webasto heater trying to defrost it it was 25 mins is there any settings on ac for this
 
Set climate to defrost setting - the top left button. Note this does not produce any more heat only allows the blower to direct as much air as possible to the screen. The Webasto is more to heat the engine coolant up, reducing engine warm up time. Did you hear the Webasto running and see its exhaust? You must not have the ECON button pressed for everything to work.
 
I did not drive very far but I have heard it when I switch engine off you can hear it run for a time
 
When the Webasto runs it makes a noise something between rumbling thunder and a jet engine running. The exhaust is quite visible coming out the bottom of the under tray.
 
Yes I did see exhaust smoke from passenger side front no undertray I don’t have one yes jet engine it’s like the turbo slow down
 
As this was possibly the first time the Webasto had been used in a while there could be stale and dirty fuel, cobwebs etc to burn off. Try a few more cold mornings it may just be the fact you are not used to the system yet.
