Accelerator pedal

Hi guys

I'm having a bit of bother with my accelerator pedal at present. When accelerating hard the pedal seems to stick causing the engine to over rev when changing gear. I sometimes feel the pedal smack the bottom of my foot as it gets stuck then returns.

My thoughts are I need a new pedal as I've tried a bit of lube already. Has anyone fitted a new pedal? is it easy to fit? or am i barking up the wrong tree and its not the pedal at all lol.

Just worried it might jam fully open and i end up in a ditch somewhere

Just don't turn the ignition switch too far and lock the steering.

Ref the pedal, I don't recall anyone in the club replacing one but it should be fairly easy to fit. You need to remove the under dash panel (one bolt hidden under the A pillar trim) unplug the pedal and loosen 3 nuts. A new pedal is about £60 from Audi. Double check but I don't think it needs any coding / calibration with VagCom.
I assume you have done the obvious and checked its not catching on the carpets etc.

my main concerns were getting caught out in a corner or something but it seems to only give me trouble when i push the pedal hard so aslong as im gentle with the throttle i'll be ok

spike its not catching on any carpet.

sounds fairly easy to fit i'll have a look this weekend underneath the dash.

theres a few pedals going on ebay at the mo for around £30 a new part might be in order though as a second hand one might throw up the same problems.

thanks for the fitting advice spike

I am gonna replace the accelerator pedal soon, just wanna make sure if there is any coding involved since it has an electronic module. plz help
